Service Description

A phobia is an overwhelming and debilitating fear of an object, place, situation, feeling or animal. Phobias are more pronounced than fears and include spiders , heights ,and flying . Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) effectively addresses phobias using techniques like Rewind and Reframe. The Rewind technique is a non-intrusive method that allows individuals to mentally revisit and 'rewind' the traumatic or phobic event in a safe, controlled environment. During this process, the therapist guides the person into a state of deep relaxation. In this state, the individual mentally plays the traumatic memory in reverse, effectively disconnecting the intense emotional response from the memory. This method reduces the emotional impact of the phobic trigger, making it less distressing. The Reframe technique complements this by changing how the individual perceives the phobic stimulus. Once the emotional charge is diminished through the Rewind technique, the therapist helps the person to reframe their thoughts around the phobia. This involves creating positive associations and developing a new, healthier perspective. For example, if someone has a phobia of flying, they might reframe their thoughts to focus on the excitement of travel and the safety statistics of air travel, rather than the fear of flying itself. By combining Rewind and Reframe techniques, SFH not only reduces the immediate fear response but also equips individuals with a more positive outlook and effective coping strategies. This dual approach helps achieve lasting change, allowing individuals to face previously feared situations with confidence and calm.
